This cowl has a great fit, a tailored double-hem, and wonderful texture. The large, sculptural cables contrast beautifully with a delicate lace mesh. Two versions of lace mesh have been provided: Version 1 (shown in our Wool Socks red) has mesh patterning worked on every round. Version 2 (shown in Nest brown) is the same mesh pattern, but with a free round of knitting in between each patterned round. Charts for both have been provided – knitter’s preference!

    • 2 skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter (100% American Targhee-Columbia wool; 140 yards/50g)

  • Pattern specs

    CONSTRUCTION

    • Cowl is worked in the round from the bottom up.


    GAUGE

    • 18 sts & 24 rows = 4″ in stockinette stitch with Size A needle, after blocking


    NEEDLES

    Size A needle (for Main Fabric):

    • One 16″ circular needle in size needed to obtain gauge listed
    • Suggested Size: 5 mm (US 8)


    Size B needle (for Turned Hems):

    • One 16″ circular needle one size smaller than Size A
    • Suggested Size: 4.5 mm (US 7)


    FINISHED DIMENSIONS

    • 23″ circumference at top hem, 24″ circumference at bottom hem; 11.5″ length from base to top (all measurements taken after blocking)


    SIZES

    • One size (two versions of lace mesh are provided in pattern)
