A basic pullover is elevated by tiered rooftops of bold chevrons. Seamed construction provides a crisply structured fit and the arrowhead motif is worked in intarsia. Heighten the playful graphic effect with bright or high-contrast color choices; choose a tone-on-tone pairing to create more subtle interest.


Worsted weight wool yarn in the following approximate amounts:

  • 650 (700, 830, 930, 1040, 1185) yards Color 1 (C1)
  • 80 (80, 90, 100, 100, 115) yards Color 2 (C2)


Brooklyn Tweed Shelter (100% American Targhee-Columbia wool; 140 yards/50g):

Please note: the Intarsia pattern in this garment is charted only.

  • 15 stitches & 24 rows = 4″ in stockinette stitch with Size A needle(s), after blocking
  • 13-stitch panel from Chart measures 3″ wide with Size A needle(s), after blocking

Size A (for Main Fabric):

  • One pair of straight needles or a 32″ circular needle* and one set of double-pointed needles (DPNs)† in size needed to obtain gauge listed
  • Suggested Size: 5½ mm (US 9)

Size B (for Ribbing):

  • One pair of straight needles or a 32″ circular needle* and one set of DPNs†, two sizes smaller than Size A
  • Suggested Size: 4½ mm (US 7)

*Knitter’s preferred style of needle may be used
†32″ circular needle can be used instead of DPNs if using the Magic Loop method for working small circumferences in the round (i.e. Sleeves)

Finished dimensions
  • 33¼ (35½, 37½, 41¾, 46¼, 50½)” circumference at bust
  • Intended Ease: +2–3″
